Job Description:
The Whole Family Team provides specialist, clinical drug and alcohol services to families with existing child protection concerns. These complex cases often involve co-occurring mental health issues, domestic violence, social disadvantage, and other physical health and social challenges.
The role works intensively and assertively with families to assist in managing their mental health issues and developing the skills necessary for a safe and nurturing environment for their children.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing specialist, clinical drug and alcohol services to families
* Managing mental health issues and developing skills for a safe and nurturing environment
* Working with families to address co-occurring mental health issues, domestic violence, social disadvantage, and other physical health and social issues
Requirements:
* Qualification as a Registered Nurse, Psychologist, or Allied Health Professional
* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (if applicable) and/or eligibility for membership of a relevant peak body professional association
* At least 12 months' experience working in mental health or 5 years post-registration experience including 3 years' experience in mental health
Selection criteria include:
* Demonstrated knowledge of family systems and clinical expertise in managing mental health issues that impact the family
* Demonstrated knowledge and skills in using evidence-based treatments, including family-based intervention models
* Experience in mental health crisis intervention
* Understanding of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007)
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills across various mediums
* Proven high-level written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated computer literacy
* Evidence of a Class C driver's license
