About the Role
TRS Resourcing is currently seeking an experienced Field Service Generator Technician / Industrial Electrician to join a growing and well‐established power generation business servicing clients throughout Melbourne and regional Victoria.
This role will suit a trade‐qualified electrician with strong fault‐finding skills and hands‐on experience working on diesel generators, backup power systems and industrial electrical equipment.
You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting and commissioning critical power systems across a diverse range of commercial, industrial and infrastructure clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Field service, maintenance and repairs of diesel generators (GENSET systems)
- Breakdown response and emergency fault finding
- Electrical testing, diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Installation and commissioning of generator systems
- Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
- ATS and control system fault finding
- Completing service reports and maintenance documentation
- Travelling to customer sites across Melbourne and regional Victoria
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with industry standards
Requirements
- Current Victorian A-Grade Electrical Licence
- Demonstrated experience servicing, maintaining and fault‐finding diesel generators and power generation equipment
- Strong industrial electrical and fault‐finding experience
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Current driver's licence
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a field service environment
- Strong commitment to safety procedures and quality workmanship
Highly Regarded
- Diesel engine experience
- Experience with Cummins, CAT, Kohler, FG Wilson or similar generator brands
- HR licence
- Generator commissioning experience
- Previous field service technician experience
