About the role
Chess Electrics is seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team in Mackay, Queensland. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and supporting the overall accounting function within our growing organisation.
What you'll be doing
* Manage accounts payable and receivable, including payment processing, and reconciliations
* Prepare and process payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and remittances
* Maintain general ledger and other financial records
* Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports
* Liaise with internal stakeholders and external auditors to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
* Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed
What we're looking for
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a bookkeeping or accounting role
* Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and software (e.g. Xero, Pronto)
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate IV in Accounting or Bookkeeping, would be highly regarded
