About The Role
Are you a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse ready to take your career to the next level? We're looking for exceptional Defence Force Recruiting (DFR) Nurse Officers to play a vital role in shaping the future of the Australian Defence Force (ADF). The successful candidate will be primarily based in our Newcastle Clinic, in NSW (Awabakal Country), on a Full‑Time basis, working 38 hrs per week. Commencing in the New Year, the role will initially be located at our Broadmeadows site; with a move to the ADFCC Newcastle site planned for mid‑2025.
Duties
* Conduct telephone vetting and in‑person preliminary assessments
* Ensure all preliminary assessment information is entered accurately into the electronic health record
* Review online medical history questionnaire and extract additional information while taking notes in the online medical records system
* Review medical files, archive record identification and requests
* Extant reports requests as needed
* Monitor & maintain equipment used during preliminary assessments
* Follow established policy and procedures within a well‑defined Defence framework
Candidate Requirements
* Registered Nurse with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Sharp eye for detail
* Ability to navigate electronic health records/systems and other relevant ICT systems
* Minimum 3 years' broad medical experience in a health system comparable to Australia
* Experience within a Defence or on‑base setting or in the delivery of pre‑employment medicals would be highly desirable
* Current Working With Children Check
* Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAD009) certification
* Australian Citizen and hold or have the ability to maintain an AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance
