This isfor Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term FullTime, Fixed Term Part Time. Fixed Term appointmentswill be made with the possibility of extension(s) and/orpermanency. We have up to 1.4 FTE available toappoint.

What is our Staff Development Nurserole?

This role underthe direction of the relevant Senior Registered Nurse(s) practisesas a Staff Development Nurse in keeping with the Australian Nursingand Midwifery Board Registration Standards and Nursing PracticeDecision Flowchart.

* Ongoingassessment of the knowledge and skills of nursing staff indesignated ward/unit.
* Planningand implementation of education and training programs andparticipation in the planning and implementation of hospitalwide Staff Development programs.
* Provision of support fornew staff, including orientation, coaching andpreceptorship.
* Providesclinical knowledge and expertise within the clinicalareas.
* Upholdsand functions within the core values of the organisation andnursing values of Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork &Integrity.

Whatis our Hospital in the Home (HITH) Service?

HITHatSir Charles Gairdner Hospital is a recent extension of our existingpioneering Home Link service and provides patients with analternative to an in-hospital stay while still receiving acuteinpatient care in the comfort of their own home from amultidisciplinary team of health professionals.

Our nursesprovide treatments such as Intravenous antibiotics, woundmanagement, clinical assessment, heart failure management and more.We value nurses who are enthusiastic, highly resourceful, havestrong time management, and problem-solving skills. In this role,you will be supported to use your excellent clinical assessment andcommunication skills to provide care to patients in both ourhospital clinic and in the patients' home.

The HITH teamhas access to the same highly skilled staff, hospital technologies,equipment, medication, and safety and quality standards a patientwould expect in hospital. Our patients are visited at home by theteam each day and may be seen by nurses up to twice daily ifrequired, until they are discharged.

As well as undertaking a criminal record screening andintegrity checking, you may also be required to undertake a workingwith children check (if required for the role) and a pre-employmenthealth assessment. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill theabove vacancy, it may also be used to fill other \"similar\"vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this,should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertisedvacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selectedfrom this process. Both of these options remain valid for a periodof twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorsesthe recruitment decision.
