Job Opportunity: Swim Squad Coach
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Casual Swim Squad Coach to join our team at Milne Bay Aquatic Centre, coaching Junior and Bronze squads and helping grow our exciting program.
The role is casual and will be based at Milne Bay Aquatic Centre, reporting directly to the Head Coach.
Key Responsibilities:
* Program Implementation: Assist the Head Coach in planning, implementing, and evaluating training programs that address swimmers' needs across various skill levels.
* Swimmer Development: Foster a positive and supportive training environment, encourage swimmers' progress, and facilitate a smooth transition between Learn-to-Swim and Squad programs.
* Teamwork and Collaboration: Collaborate with the Head Coach and other coaching staff to ensure consistency and high-quality coaching across all programs.
* Community Engagement: Promote club participation and encourage swimmers to participate in local, state, and national competitions.
* Communication: Maintain positive relationships with swimmers, parents, and the wider community.
* Aquatics Coaching Professional Development: Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and a proactive approach to seeking opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in aquatics coaching.
* Schools Programs: Support the delivery of coaching for School swimming and training programs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can build and balance the multifaceted nature of the role. Key traits and experience include prior coaching or upper level learn to swim teaching experience, demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with swimmers and stakeholders, strong communication, team and collaboration skills, willingness to work with the site team engage and work closely with swim teachers.
The qualifications required for this role are:
Coaching accreditation - Competitive Strokes and "Development/Bronze" or Higher,
Current Blue Card,
Current Lifeguard Qualifications,
Willingness to undergo a National Police Check.
