Job Opportunity\: Fitter Machinist – UGL Manufacturing & Maintenance, Broadmeadow, Newcastle NSW UGL’s Manufacturing & Maintenance division in Broadmeadow, Newcastle, is seeking skilled Fitter Machinists to join our rail component overhaul team. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis under UGL’s Newcastle Operations Enterprise Agreement, with a 9-day fortnight schedule, providing every second Friday off. Regular hours are Monday-Thursday 5\:30 am – 2\:30 pm, and 5\:30 am – 1\:30 pm on working Fridays. Role Overview As a Fitter Machinist, you’ll work in our rail component overhaul line, focusing on component overhaul tasks along with general workshop duties. Key Responsibilities Machining Duties \: Machining commutator armatures, operating balance and horizontal boring machines, crane operations, and general machining tasks. Quality Control \: Inspecting and interpreting drawings/specifications, determining manufacturing methods, and ensuring standards are met. Safety and Teamwork \: Commitment to safety practices, teamwork, and collaboration. About You Qualifications \: Relevant trade qualification as a Fitter/Machinist. Experience \: Proven experience in metal machining and fabrication. Experience in rail, electric motor, or mining industries is advantageous but not required.
