About Us

Sydney City Budget Hotel is a boutique property located in the vibrant suburb of Darlinghurst, Sydney. Since opening in 2025, we have built a reputation for delivering warm, personalised service across our 11 rooms. We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Hotel Manager to lead our operations and continue delivering an exceptional guest experience.


Position Overview

As Hotel Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the hotel's daily operations. You will lead a team, manage guest relations, and ensure the property operates efficiently, profitably, and in full compliance with relevant legislation.


Key Responsibilities

* Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the hotel's 11 units
* Plan, organise, direct and coordinate hotel activities to ensure efficient and profitable operations
* Oversee all front desk functions including guest check-in and check-out procedures
* Manage guest bookings and enquiries, ensuring accurate records and efficient processing of guest data
* Handle guest complaints promptly and professionally to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
* Provide guests with local tourism information and assistance as required
* Maintain and uphold high standards of service quality and cleanliness throughout the property
* Ensure full compliance with Workplace Health and Safety legislation and regulations
* Prepare management reports, financial accounts, and administrative documentation
* Develop, implement and monitor budgets to maintain financial performance
* Select, train, supervise and performance manage staff
* Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, suppliers and local businesses


Requirements


Education & Experience

* Diploma (AQF level 5 or above) in Hospitality Management, Business Management or a related field; and
* Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in hotel or accommodation management


Skills & Attributes

* Demonstrated ability to manage day-to-day hotel operations effectively
* Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational and administrative skills
* Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
* Genuine passion for the hospitality industry and delivering exceptional customer service
* Ability to resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
* Sound knowledge of WHS obligations and compliance in a hospitality environment
* Proficiency in hotel property management systems (PMS) and general office software


What We Offer

* Competitive salary of $77,000 – $80,000 per annum (commensurate with experience)
