**What You Will Be Doing**
This is a dynamic, challenging and rewarding position, suited to an experienced Social Worker with a commitment to Best Practice and provides an exciting opportunity for a Social Worker looking to develop their career in health.
The successful applicant will demonstrate strong leadership skills, well developed organisational competencies, advanced supervision and advocacy skills and the ability to develop and support strong partnerships both internally and externally to Peninsula Health.
Applicants must be eligible for membership of the AASW, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Be accountable for the provision of high quality social work service to in order to improve the health and wellbeing of people living on the Mornington Peninsula.
- Provide advanced assessment, treatment/interventions and consultative services to patients and families.
- Demonstrate advanced clinical reasoning in the provision of clinical care and operate independently with minimum direct clinical supervision.
- Participate in planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting on social work services to promote effectives in clinical service delivery.
- Provide a consultative role in area's of clinical expertise to social workers to promote consistent provision of safe high quality patient centred care.
- Ability to assist the Head of Social Work/Lead Social Worker and senior social work team in maximizing and developing the quality and efficiency of social work services and programs within the hospital and beyond.
- Establish and maintain strategic links and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders appropriate to this senior role.
**What You Need**
We anticipate you will have:
- Member of (or eligibility for) membership of the AASW
- Experience working in a hospital setting or health related environment
- Experience supervising staff and students
- Excellent skills in comprehensive assessment, planning and risk mitigation
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
- Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain at own expense
