What does a typical day look like?
Bring culinary skills to a dedicated team of craftspeople, curating and presenting restaurant-quality meals for 40,000ft service. In the Production Team, you will work in a busy open-plan kitchen preparing and cooking various international hot and cold meals in commercial quantities for our customer airlines.
What are your main responsibilities?
* Prepare hot and cold meals for Business & Economy class passengers for International and Domestic airline customers.
* Manage multiple menus and bulk-prepare dishes for up to 10,000 passengers.
* Stock control and minimising food wastage.
* Ensure taste, consistency and presentation are at the highest standard.
* Maintain a strictly hygienic work environment at all times.
* Use proper techniques such as cook-chill methods for safe intermittent food storage.
* Follow menu specifications as well as Food Safety / HACCP & OHS guidelines.
What do you need to be successful in securing this role?
* Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent industry experience.
* Solid knife skills, knowledge of cooking principles and techniques.
* Passion and drive to deliver high-quality, consistent food to customers.
* Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Good organizational and time management skills.
* Motivated, hardworking attitude.
* Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen and meet deadlines.
* Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred but not essential.
* Clear National Police Check is required due to working in Aviation Services.
* Availability to work 38 hours/week (full-time permanent).
