**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a seasoned Financial Manager to oversee all financial aspects of our construction operations.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in managing multiple stakeholders and deadlines. The successful applicant will be responsible for developing and implementing consistent business processes across various contracting entities and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement internal controls and processes around job estimating, work-in-progress, cost management, and progress claims.
* Assist operational teams with tender submission requirements and project managers in analyzing job variances and future improvements.
* Prepare annual three-way budgets (P&L, Cashflow, and Balance Sheet) and manage ongoing three-way forecasts to update monthly business units/segment rolling annual and long-term forecasts.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
* Preparation of weekly cash forecasts (eight weeks).
* Analysis and explanation of any variations to forecast working capital requirements.
* Approval of weekly AP payments ensuring key suppliers are being paid within payment terms.
Month-End Process:
* Accounting control over cut-off deadlines and integrity review of data uploaded into group reporting tools.
* Responsibility for general ledgers of all commercial construction entities.
* Ownership of processing timeliness/accuracy of AP/AR transactions.
* Review and analysis of monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow movements against budget and reforecasts.
* Preparation and presentation of financial information to senior management as part of monthly management meetings.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
* Assistance with tax queries from tax managers to facilitate group bi-annual tax effect accounting schedules.
* Review of monthly GST reporting to ensure accurate inclusion in the monthly Group BAS return.
* Assistance with audit queries resulting from the annual audit and half-yearly review for commercial construction operations.
Qualifications:
* University degree in accounting or similar major.
* CA or CPA membership.
Experience:
* Minimum three years in a similar role and industry.
* CA or CPA membership.
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
* Superior written and verbal communication skills.
* Superior analytical skills and ability to explain variances.
* Intermediate to advanced Excel and other MS Office skills.
* Proven ability to build effective relationships with key stakeholders across a business.
* Ability to apply strategic and flexible thought processes to achieve positive outcomes.
* Experience in month-end reporting and budgeting is highly desirable.
