Details: The ACT Courts and Tribunal (ACTCT) supports the proper administration of justice by providing high quality support to judicial officers and tribunal members and high-quality services to those using the courts and tribunal. It provides the Supreme Court, Magistrates Court and ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal (ACAT) with registry, court support, forensic, corporate and strategic services.

About the Role

The role of the Assistant Director, Business Analysis is to lead, manage, and undertake business analysis activities to enable digital transformations and to improve business processes and services. The role requires an individual that is proactive, driven, thorough, resourceful, with excellent attention to details, and could develop and maintain positive working relationships with stakeholders from all levels and areas.

This position does involve direct supervision of staff.

As the Assistant Director, Business Analysis, you will:

* Lead and build a high-performing team of business analysts to deliver high quality and timely business analysis services while managing business, user experience, and technology changes in agile ways within a complex ICT and business environment.
* Lead a range of business and technical stakeholder engagements to clearly identify, understand, analyse, define, and document requirements, processes, user journeys, and impacts.
* Collaborate with other teams and individuals to support the design, development, and delivery of critical and highly complex digital and data projects and solutions.
* Lead the development of testing materials and user manuals, the coordination of user acceptance testing, and facilitating business transition and change.
* Lead and undertake development of templates, processes, and standards for use in business analysis, user journey, and system/process documentation activities.
* Build and manage positive working relationships and long-term partnerships with stakeholders at all levels across ACTCT and across programs and projects, as well as negotiate and influence outcomes.
* Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders across organisational levels, from senior management to technical experts, by utilising languages and presentations appropriately tailored to the audience.
* Instil and foster a positive culture exhibiting ACTPS Employee Values within the team and across the organisation.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

* Tertiary qualifications or experience in information technology, business information systems, service design, or a relevant field is desirable.
* Demonstrated experience with user journey mapping and process/system documentation techniques is desirable.
* To be eligible for permanent or temporary employment within the ACTPS you must be an Australian citizen and permanent resident or hold a valid work visa.
* If an officer no longer holds a visa that permits them to work in Australia their employment with the ACTPS will be terminated.
* The successful candidate will be required to undergo a National Criminal History check.
* This position does not require a working with vulnerable people registration.
* This position does not require a pre-employment medical.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately until 30 June 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months.

Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.

A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
