Senior Product Development Manager Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Product Development Manager to lead the end-to-end product development process across all categories. This role will ensure that all products deliver the brand's high standards for innovation, function, and fit.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Proactively lead product development timelines and critical path milestones to ensure timely delivery of products without compromising on quality or fit standards.
2. Work closely with cross-functional teams from initial product brief through to final sign-off, contributing technical expertise across all stages of development.
3. Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive tech packs for each style, including fully graded size specifications, construction details, measurement charts, BOMs, and tolerances.
4. Apply a strong understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, and grading techniques to translate design intent into technically sound, production-ready garments.
5. Manage fit model selection and facilitate fit sessions using physical prototypes or virtual 3D samples to assess proportions, mobility, and design alignment, providing expert guidance on necessary adjustments.
6. Collaborate with athletes and wear testers to conduct structured performance testing, capturing and analyzing feedback on fit, durability, and function, making iterative improvements to ensure the garment performs under real-world conditions.
7. Maintain and utilize the block library to streamline development, ensure consistency across product categories, and support fit standardization across seasonal ranges.
8. Maintain all Size Guides, Technical standards across all categories to be shared with internal departments.
Requirements:
* A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in product development, ideally within performance apparel or equipment category.
* Bachelor's degree in Product Development, Apparel/Fashion Design or related field.
* Proven track record of managing complex development processes and cross-functional teams.
* Excellent organizational, communication and project management skills.
* Strong knowledge on construction, pattern making, grading, technical fit and quality workmanship.
* Experience working directly with overseas factories and managing vendor relationships.
* Proficiency in PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator, MS Office and 3D design and pattern making software experience beneficial.
