Store Manager – Audio Visual Hire, Sales, Production

Are you passionate about pro audio, lighting, and vision equipment? Do you thrive in a fast‑paced environment? BJ's Sound & Lighting is looking for a positive and motivated store manager to join our small team at our Gold Coast store .

If you're someone who enjoys engaging with customers both in‑store and on‑site, has a strong understanding of pro audio, DJ equipment, and entertainment tech, and is ready to jump into a hands‑on role, we'd love to hear from you


What You'll Be Doing

* Team Management: Lead and manage our small Gold Coast team.
* Warehouse/Store Management: Oversee the store's organisation, cleanliness and general operations.
* Customer Interaction: Demonstrating gear, answering calls/emails, and providing expert advice.
* Sales & Support: Quoting items for hire or purchase, handling point‑of‑sale transactions, and assisting with customer inquiries.
* Event Support: Setting up and operating AV equipment at client events, delivering, packing up, and picking up gear.
* Maintenance & Logistics: Maintaining hire equipment, managing stock, warehouse prep and supporting service requests and repairs.
* Teamwork & Independence: Collaborating with colleagues and working independently in a fast‑moving environment.


What We're Looking For

* Customer‑Focused: Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and a passion for providing top‑notch service.
* Professional Tech Knowledge: Experience with professional audio, DJ gear, lighting, and video equipment is essential. You don't need to be a DJ, but you should be comfortable setting up gear like PA systems, DJ setups, and lighting.
* Physical & Practical: Expected to load/unload gear and handle some heavy lifting; staying fit is important.
* Driver's License: A manual driver's license (preferably open) and a clean driving record are a must.
* Experience: While previous retail or hire experience is great, it's not a deal‑breaker. Minimum 2 years management experience leading a small team is required.


Flexible Employment Options

* Position Type: Full‑time
* Location: 2/3 United Road, Ashmore, QLD, 4214 (Gold Coast branch)
* Work Schedule: Availability including Saturdays (and occasional after‑hours during busy periods)
* Peak Season: Limited time off from October to January, as it's our busiest period
