The Hotel
Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport is a 315 room Hotel located in Mascot near the Sydney domestic airport and home to our very own La Boca Restaurant and Bar specializing in Argentinean cuisine and 11 function rooms, ideal for a wide range of events from small meetings to 300 plus large conferences.
The Role
Reporting to the Executive Assistant Manager, the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will support the management of F&B operations across La Boca Restaurant & Bar, Banquets & Events and Room Service. You will work closely with operational leaders, kitchen and events teams to ensure a seamless and premium guest experience, while assisting with staff development, rostering, cost control and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Support daily management of F&B operations across all outlets.
* Lead, train, coach and mentor front-of-house team members, empowering them to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
* Ensure seamless coordination with kitchen, banquets, events and sales teams.
* Assist with roster preparation, payroll and labour cost management.
* Oversee inventory control and stock management for F&B outlets.
* Contribute to revenue growth and cost control initiatives, supporting financial targets for outlets.
* Conduct pre-shift briefings and post-service debriefings to maintain service standards.
* Handle guest feedback and service recovery professionally.
* Ensure compliance with RSA, WHS, HACCP, food safety and hotel brand standards.
* Support succession planning and development of high-potential team members.
* Assist in planning and executing promotional campaigns, special events and functions.
* Stay informed on industry trends and recommend opportunities to improve operational efficiency and guest experience.
* Flexibly work across mornings, evenings, weekends, public holidays and event service periods.
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within Food & Beverage operations.
* Experience in a 4–5star hotel, high-volume restaurant, or conference & events environment.
* Hands‐on leadership style with strong coaching and mentoring skills.
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills, thriving under pressure.
* Guest‐focused mindset with commitment to premium service standards.
* Knowledge of POS systems and F&B operational procedures.
* A current RSA and full working rights in Australia.
