The Elandra at Mission Beach offers one of the most spectacular resort and dining experiences in Tropical North Queensland.
Commanding an iconic clifftop location perched above the mesmerising Coral Sea, the resort presents unhindered and breathtaking views of nearby Dunk, Bedarra, Hinchinbrook and the surrounding Family Group of Islands, with the Great Barrier Reef glistening on the horizon.
Comprising an amazing open-terrace tropical restaurant and bar, 20 boutique designer resort rooms and one of the most spectacular pool decks in Australia, The Elandra offers a private tropical escape or spectacular event venue like no other.

The Restaurant
The restaurant and bar are the heart and soul of Elandra. Offering mesmerizing ocean views from the newly renovated alfresco dining area, guests will experience true tropical dining with some of the most spectacular views on the east coast of Australia.
The menu concept is modern Australian using the freshest of local ingredients, cooked simply and presented spectacularly. Seafood and Asian influences feature heavily, along with the abundant and amazing produce available locally.
The Role
The Sous Chef role supports the Head Chef amongst a small team of kitchen professionals.
In addition to preparing quality cuisine, the role will provide the successful candidate with exposure to menu development, stock ordering and skill development.
The position would suit someone who is passionate and motivated and wants to work amongst and learn from a small team of talented like-minded kitchen professionals.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Sous Chef in a high-quality restaurant.
* Expertise in all cooking techniques, flavours, and ingredients.
* Skills in food presentation using traditional and modern cooking techniques.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Ability to work in a small team environment.
* Adaptable to change.
* Able and willing to work shift work, including weekends and public holidays.
