The Legal Team
Reporting to a supportive Head of Legal, you will join a close-knit legal team of five.
The Role
You will work closely with the major projects team to negotiate and manage high-value supply and services contracts across Australia and New Zealand. This role combines significant contract negotiation with hands‐on management of disputes, while also supporting broader commercial and corporate matters across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Negotiating, drafting and reviewing complex commercial contracts, including Works Agreements, Supply Agreements, Service Agreements, NDAs, Statements of Work, and Framework Agreements.
* Managing a range of commercial disputes and issues, including labour hire, payment claims, subcontractor insolvency, bank guarantees, and insurance matters.
* Assisting with procurement agreement negotiations.
* Partnering with external counsel on regulatory compliance.
* Providing proactive legal and commercial advice to identify, manage, and mitigate contractual risks.
Ideal Candidate
* At least 5 years' post‐qualification experience in construction, procurement or corporate/commercial law.
* Confident leading negotiations with strong drafting and problem‐solving skills.
* Ideally a mix of private practice and in‐house experience.
* Proactive, collaborative, and solutions‐oriented with the ability to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders.
