We a seeking a results driven Senior Analyst or Manager to help the Business Lending second line Portfolio Management team continue to evolve into a key analytics and insights function.
- Pivotal role enhancing risk management across the credit life cycle for commercial lending products.
- End to end ownership and management of credit risk initiatives, portfolio reviews, deep dives and analytics to support growth programs put forward by the business and other initiatives aimed at strengthening risk management practices.
- Help identify, source and enrich data sets that will help us improve our service offering, providing timely and accurate insights to portfolio owners.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leaders of various stakeholder groups.
**How will I help?**
Your role is to support the Portfolio Lead in providing data, analytical support and recommendations relating to initiatives put forward both by the Business as well as Line 2 risk colleagues. Initiatives that you will manage range from product growth strategies, process automation, delinquency and collections strategies and risk appetite settings, through to portfolio deep dives of stressed industries in order to proactively identify opportunities to strengthen credit risk management and underwriting practices. This is not a BAU reporting role - we are looking for someone able to use data, analytics and innovation to solve business problems as they are identified and prioritised, from the technical side through to the stakeholder interaction and influence.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing data and analytics support to help identify weaknesses or enhancement opportunities in various business lending initiatives that are put forward across originations, account management, collections and provisioning strategies.
- Utilise a background in data management to assist the team by producing data sets that can be used in downstream portfolio management activities.
- Identifying and implementing new data sources that will help to enhance our ability to identify risky segments, products or industries leading to changes in the way we originate or manage these customers.
- Establishing "best practice" risk management processes and techniques that support the stated risk appetite, product and customer strategy.
- Producing superior credit risk insights and analysis of portfolio trends that help drive enhancements that improve performance and customer experience.
- Oversight of Business Lending decisioning rules and strategies that optimise product offerings, including monitoring of scorecards.
- Providing key 2nd Line credit risk oversight and support to 1st Line Business Lending initiatives.
Your role helps to evolve policies and processes, directly contributing to the customer service revolution by attracting and retaining customers aligned to our risk appetite.

**What do I need?**
Ideally, you have experience in the formulation, justification and implementation of strategy initiatives, end to end - you have the ability to extract, manipulate and analyse data through solid programming skills, show innovation in drawing conclusions and providing recommendations covering all bases, and have strong presentation skills to be able to communicate findings to a wide and varied audience.
You will require strong time management skills and an inquisitive mindset, as this is a highly autonomous role where we will rely on your findings to prioritise team optimisation activities. A depth of experience in banking credit risk and knowledge of business lending policy and processes would be an advantage, but not as essential as demonstrated experience delivering compelling analytical findings, regardless of the industry. In addition, your exemplary organisational and effective communication skills will see you develop meaningful working relationships across the business.
