Architectural Registration in Queensland is a requirement of the role.JOB DESCRIPTIONA role for a project architect who has general experience working in the field of architecture and interiors architecture, to lead or be part of the project team, including consultants and other staff within the office, contributing to all phases of architectural and interiors projects and aspects of office management.Working across all project deliverables including predesign, schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration.You will work amongst a team, and at times lead a team through the development of project deliverables to ensure the facilitation of a project's completion; on-time, on/under budget, compliant with IA's documentation quality standards and aligning with industry compliance requirements.It is expected that, as a minimum, you will:Have an existing and competent understanding of the National Code of Construction.Have proficient technical skillset to develop project documentation within Revit and other platforms.Continue to develop a detailed understanding of the project management process.Continue to develop a detailed understanding of design coordination.Work to deliver profitable projects through effective time and cost management.Coordinate your work with that of other staff, consultants and collaborators generally to tight time frames.Coordinate and/or produce error free existing conditions drawings, permit application drawings and documentation, construction drawings.Coordinate and/or produce error free construction specifications and schedules.Contribute to presentation drawings and other presentation materials.Liaise with Clients and relevant Consultants and Authorities.Communicate and/or meet with clients, town planners, consultants, and builders on site and elsewhere as required.Coordinate, integrate, review and evaluate the work of sub consultants.Attend site meetings prior to and during construction.Ensure the incorporation of relevant planning and construction codes, standards and regulations into design concepts and documentation.Conduct tenders, negotiate contracts and administer building contracts.Respond to builder and client queries during, before and after construction.Undertake design projects from concept design through to completion.Client briefing.Coordinate and liaison with project team, clients, consultants and contractors.Contract Administration / Answering RFI's & site activities as required.Deliver projects from start to completion independently, including contract administration.Be up to date on market trends, attend industry events.Assist with fee proposals, project programs & resourcing.Ability to work as a leader & /or part of a team as required.Taking lead role on projects and leading design delivery team and doing mark-ups.Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceMinimum requirements are:Minimum of 4 years in a similar role.Proficient use of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Teams).A strong use of Revit (2022 or above) in shared and collaborative Revit files.An excellent knowledge of the requirements of BCA/NCC, Australian Standards and Certification bodies.Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-oriented environment.Developing experience in leading, coordinating and contributing to a multi-disciplinary team both internally and externally.Architecture degree or degrees recognised by the Architects Registration Board of Victoria.Registration with the Architects Registration Board of Victoria (not essential but preferred).Strong proficiency in Revit (mandatory).A high level of design and documentation skills.Construction knowledge and detailing.Deep knowledge of structural, electrical and mechanical engineering related to buildings.Solid understanding of NCC and Australian Standards.General proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs, including Word, Excel.General proficiency with the Adobe suite of programs, including Acrobat, Photoshop and InDesign.Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and also as part of a team.Manage sensitive and confidential information.Good communication skills, both orally and in writing.You should have a reasonable level of arithmetic the local market as a workplace design leader.Assist with the development of tender/proposal responses, submissions, and creation of their content.When required, assist with project pitches / presentations, responsible for the articulation of design capability and deliverables.Projects and DeliveryAlign to IA Revit and Documentation Standards and templates at all times.Responsibility to deliver high quality project documentation, within the agreed time allocation.Ability to manage documentation output based on resource and time allocation.Provide input into potential Revit Standards development that contribute to improvements in accuracy, efficiency and consistency.Complete efficient and accurate site audits.Ability to set-up and develop a 3D Revit model from scratch, based on site audit information or 2D PDF/CAD files.Deliver documentation packages to a standard that mitigates construction variation risks.Accurate scheduling of doors, finishes, furniture and equipment within Revit.Use of Revit rooms, spaces and area scheduling.Research and input into product and material selection, and ensure technical and Code compliance requirements are considered and met within project detailing and scheduling.Develop project specific details that are well resolved, buildable and align with project design intent.Review and assist in the coordination of consultants drawings (services, structural).Lead/Assist with design documentation/reporting.Coordinate internal reviews of project work by Design leadership.Responsible for meeting BMS project management requirements.KEY
