The Senior Financial Accountant ensures the absolute integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial and statutory reporting for the Group. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be the technical "engine room" of the finance team—owning the end-to-end month-end close, preparing Board and ARMCC reporting packages, and managing the external audit process.
This is a high-impact role for a technically "black belt" accountant who enjoys translating financial concepts and improving workflows. You will partner closely with the General Manager of Finance and the Property team to ensure our financial data is not just accurate, but provides the high-quality commentary and analysis required for senior governance forums.

What you'll do
* Financial Reporting & Close: Own the monthly financial close for the Group, ensuring the general ledger is accurate, compliant with AASB/IFRS, and delivered on schedule.
* Statutory & Audit Management: Manage the end‐to‐end statutory audit process, serving as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors to ensure seamless, "zero‐defect" completions.
* Board & Governance Reporting: Prepare sophisticated financial reports, including P&L, Balance Sheets, and Board/ARMCC packages, providing clear insights and commentary for senior management.
* Balance Sheet Integrity: Review and maintain all balance sheet reconciliations with meticulous supporting documentation to ensure ledger integrity.
* Systems & Operations: Independently manage Concur administration, vendor approvals, and finance system processes (Yardi), while serving as the internal subject matter expert.
* Process Transformation: Act as a change agent to identify and implement improvements in finance workflows, reporting standards, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and data quality.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage proactively with the CFO, Property, and Shared Services teams to coordinate deliverables and ensure all reporting deadlines are met.
About You
* Technical Expert: You are a CA/CPA qualified accountant with a "black belt" in accounting fundamentals and accounting standards.
* Proven Experience: You bring at least 5 years of dedicated financial accounting experience, ideally starting with a Big 4 or Mid‐Tier foundation followed by 1–2 years in a commercial environment.
* Reporting Powerhouse: You have deep experience in preparing full financial statements and are comfortable determining accounting treatments for statutory reporting.
* Systems Savvy: You possess advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and are experienced with ERP platforms such as Yardi.
* Meticulous & Proactive: You have an exceptional eye for detail and the ability to preempt auditor queries or reporting discrepancies before they arise.
* Collaborative Communicator: You are skilled at informing stakeholders and translating technical numbers into actionable insights for the wider business.
