* 12 months Temporary full-time opportunity based at Berry Sport and Recreation Centre with the possibility of extension and/or conversion to ongoing employment.
About The Role
The Program Officer is responsible for planning and delivering outdoor education and recreation programs for a variety of sport, community and school groups. You will be responsible for the effective coordination of all program components, incl. ensuring program design and delivery are in line with current trends and operating standards in the sport and active recreation sector. You will also ensure all programs meet the requirements of the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998.
You will be responsible for safely managing any incidents and emergency situations that may occur during the program and also be required to undertake on-call responsibilities on a rostered basis during residential programs.
About You
Our ideal candidate will have prior experience planning and delivering education / recreation programs to sport, community, and school groups. Your ability to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures combined with your understanding of safety requirements will enable you to proactively identify and mitigate any risks in program delivery. Your communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to understand and adapt your service delivery to meet the diverse needs of your clients.
You will collaborate across work areas to improve outcomes and provide a positive customer experience. Tertiary level qualifications in a relevant field or a Certificate IV in Outdoor Recreation/Leadership and relevant industry experience is essential to success in this role.
You will need to be First aid and CPR qualified and arrange a Working with Children Check (WWCC) at your own expense. While these immediate vacancies are at our Berry Sport and Recreation Centre, you may be required to temporarily undertake work at our other Centres/Venues for organisational or capability development reasons.
