Linux Engineering Manager
We are seeking an experienced Linux Engineering Manager to lead our team in optimising Ubuntu for the latest silicon. As a key member of our engineering organisation, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing the best Ubuntu integration for IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.
* Lead a distributed team of engineers to develop and implement high-performance solutions across PC and IoT technologies.
* Engage with commercial partners to deliver a first-class Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
* Develop your team through coaching, mentoring, leading by example, and feedback.
* Oversee commercial engagements and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
* Maintain strict quality and reliability standards throughout the development process.
* Collaborate with other teams at Canonical to ensure alignment on product architecture and roadmaps.
As a Linux Engineering Manager, you will work from home with occasional global travel for meetings and collaboration. We value diversity and inclusivity in the workplace and strive to create an environment where everyone feels welcome and empowered to succeed.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with Linux distributions, debian packaging, and high-performance, server-class hardware. You should also have experience managing or leading a team of software engineers, as well as understanding agile software development methodologies and effective collaboration skills. Excellent communication skills in English are essential.
