Role Overview
The Event and Communications Assistant supports the Event Programs team within the Division of Societal Impact, Equity and Engagement (DSIEE). The role involves assisting with internal and external events, managing communications, and ensuring successful event delivery. It reports to the Senior Manager, Event Programs, and collaborates with various stakeholders.
Main Responsibilities
* Contribute to team cohesion and continuous improvement.
* Assist with event planning, including budgeting, venue setup, talent logistics, and ticketing.
* Participate in event delivery, including setup, marketing, and on-site support.
* Supervise volunteers and casual staff.
* Prepare and design event communications and marketing materials.
* Implement social media and marketing strategies.
* Manage budgets and coordinate with external suppliers.
* Attend events outside regular hours as needed.
Skills and Experience
* Relevant tertiary qualification and experience or equivalent skills.
* Experience in event production, ticketing, marketing, and talent management.
* Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
* Computer literacy and adaptability to new systems.
