Fitzroy Mining Operations is a new force in the Queensland metallurgical coal mining industry with a portfolio of existing operations and a pipeline of growth projects. In our short history, we have successfully reinvigorated operations at Carborough Downs underground mine, breathed new life into the Broadlea open cut and we also have our new underground longwall mine at Ironbark No.1.
About the role
Forming part of the Compliance Team at Ironbark No. 1 Mine, the primary purpose of the Emergency Response Coordinator is to manage and coordinate site emergency response requirements including undertaking inspections, facilitating resources, implementing processes to ensure compliance and capability for both surface and underground operations. The role will also include development and delivery of emergency response exercises.
Key Responsibilities include
* Coordinate and manage site emergency response resources to ensure an effective preparedness and response capability is in place across operations.
* Assist with maintaining and monitoring site emergency response procedures, response plans, manuals, and protocols.
* Schedule and deliver emergency response scenarios in line with Recognise Standard 8 – Conduct of mine emergency exercises.
* Deliver risk analysis, evaluation, and inspections/audit processes, as required, to ensure continuous. improvement of the site's emergency response capabilities.
* Assist in development and scheduling of site and QMRS personal training plans to maintain site's emergency preparedness effectiveness.
* Auditing and verification of associated training packages to ensure that required learning material and records are maintained and consistent with legislation, and site standards.
* Plan and schedule ESO and ERO activities across Fitzroy Mining Operations.
About You
* 5+ years previous experience in an underground coal mining environment and general working knowledge of the Coal Mining Industry (Essential).
* 2 years Underground QMRS member (Essential).
* Demonstrated practical experience with QMRS and emergency response processes (Essential).
* Previous involvement in emergency response management and understanding of Work Health & Safety requirements within the workplace.
* Proven ability to effectively work within a team environment.
* Experience in identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.
* Exceptional attention to detail and the initiative to follow up on results to ensure accuracy and timeliness of work.
* Ability to multi-task, manage competing priorities and effectively time manage.
* Advanced record keeping skills including minute taking and document storage and retrieval.
* Excellent interpersonal, cooperative and facilitation skills as part of interfacing with various levels of management and external bodies and agencies.
* Ability to lead and coordinate emergency response equipment compliance and maintenance.
* Ability to influence and work with a range of people and departments to contribute to site success.
