Whisper Restaurant & Gin Bar is now looking for an experienced Head Chef to join their team.
The right candidate will be responsible for:
* Support and guide chefs and kitchen staff in daily preparation, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and high standards across all dishes.
* Demonstrate and uphold refined cooking techniques suited to a modern bar dining experience.
* Implement and monitor waste reduction practices to optimise cost control and sustainability.
* Train and develop kitchen team members on plating, preparation methods, and service standards.
* Collaborate with management to plan, refine, and update menus in line with seasonal produce and cocktail pairings.
* Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations at all times.
* Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff to maintain a cohesive and high-performing team environment.
* Maintain clear communication with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
* Oversee the preparation of ingredients, including seafood, meats, and fresh produce, with attention to quality and detail.
* Ensure all ingredients are stored, handled, and labelled correctly in line with food safety standards.
* Manage kitchen operations, including rostering, stock control, and ordering, to support smooth and efficient service.
About you:
* At least 1 year of experience as a Head Chef;
* Strong culinary expertise combined with proven leadership and kitchen management capabilities.
* Ability to effectively lead, supervise, and coordinate a team while managing high-volume service and multiple orders.
* High level of creativity with the ability to support and guide chefs throughout service, ensuring consistency and innovation.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration between kitchen and front-of-house teams.
Job type: Permanent/full-timeSalary: $110,000 - $120,000
