Experience and Qualification Requirements
* Australian Citizens and Permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
* Minimum AQF level – Certificate III in carpentry.
* Minimum two years of experience as a carpenter.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
* Commitment to work full time (at least 38 hours per week).
* Excellent time management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Repair and replace the damaged or worn part of the structure or fixtures including doors, windows, and other furniture to restore the functionality and appearance.
* Perform finishing tasks such as sanding, staining, and varnishing to enhance the appearance and durability of completed projects.
* Take precise measurement and cut material to specified dimensional using tools such as saws, chisels, and planes.
* Construct and install structures, fixtures and frameworks made of wood and other material according to blueprints, specifications and building codes.
* Assemble and join wood material using nails, screws, adhesives and ensure secure construction.
* Interpret architectural and structural drawings to plan and execute carpentry tasks accurately and efficiently.
* Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment and prevent any accidents or injuries.
* Ordering and selecting the timber and other material to prepare the layout and structure.
* Collaboration with other construction professionals, contractors, and fellow tradespersons to finish the project and ensure quality workmanship.
* Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and preferences, provide recommendations, and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project.
* Maintain and repair carpentry tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working conditions and ready to use when needed.
