Will earn up to $160,000 for candidates that are qualified and hold all the qualifications that are required – Queensland Work Licence Electrical Linesperson (Linesperson – Restricted to Traction) and other qualifications when working for QR.

About our Team
Our Regional Assets South provides essential infrastructure maintenance, delivery and rail traffic management services for regional Queensland customers, communities and industry across the South West, West Moreton, Near North Coast and Central West.
Reporting to the Co-Ordinator Traction Power, you will work with a supportive and tightknit team that consists of three substation electricians and six other Traction Linespersons. They are a team that work closely and provide support to the Miriam Vale and Bundaberg teams.
About the role:
9. Install, maintain and repair the overhead traction power equipment
10. Ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with technical and operational specifications and standards
11. Implement and co-ordinate traction system isolation, access and worksite safeworking protection in accordance with Queensland Rail Standards
12. Maintain all records and associated documentation relating to asset condition, maintenance programs and costing systems
13. Report on actual work performed against scheduled work program and equipment performance and condition irregularities
14. Review current work procedures and practices to find continuous quality improvement
15. 9-day fortnight generally between the hours of 0700 to 1600 however flexibility is required to work outside of these hours, on weekends, public holidays and you can expect to be on call roughly every third week.
16. Travel and work across the district – this may include attending training in Brisbane and Maryborough or assisting with maintenance work in Rockhampton when required
About you:
17. Previous knowledge and experience of overhead traction power equipment and their relevant maintenance and installation standards
18. Sound level of skill in the installation, repair and maintenance of overhead traction power equipment.
19. A safety conscious attitude with a sound knowledge high voltage operating procedures / safeworking practices and the Workplace Health and Safety Act
20. Sound interpersonal, oral and written / digital communication skills
21. Electrical Linesperson Licence – mandatory
22. 'C’ class drivers licence – mandatory
