Workshop Assistant
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our engineering workshop team. The successful candidate will work closely with the fitter to assist in various tasks, including assembly, disassembly, sanding, riveting, bolting, drilling, and other low-risk operations.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including assembling and finishing specialist laboratory and metallurgical equipment. You will be part of a dynamic team of engineers and project managers who value collaboration and respect for one another's skills and expertise.
The role is based in Canning Vale and requires an 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday, with no weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the fitter in various tasks and projects
* Perform assembly, disassembly, sanding, riveting, bolting, drilling, and other low-risk operations
* Work collaboratively with the fabricator/welders and engineers to deliver high-quality results
* Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent required
* Relevant work experience in a mechanical or engineering environment (an asset)
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
