THE ROLE
Utilising your payroll experience you will be required to assist our Group Payroll Manager to process our weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls. Other responsibilities will include setting up new employees within our payroll system, updating and maintaining system data, responding to payroll queries, completing administrative functions, assisting with statutory returns and staying up to date with all relevant legislation, policy and regulations.
Basic responsibilities of this role will include:
* Ensure that weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll is accurate and processed on time
* Ensure the business complies to all legislative requirements pertaining to payroll
* Prepare regular management and financial reporting
* Manage and process the entire end to end payroll function including Superannuation, taxation and other deductions as required
* Act as the sole contact for all payroll queries nationally
* Work with HR Manager to develop procedures as necessary to improve payroll related processes and contribute to Seaway’s longer-term payroll strategy
* Various HR projects as required
Experience and Knowledge:
* Ideally 2-3 years payroll experience
* Proven experience in award interpretation and application
* Experience processing complex pay runs preferred but not essential
* Knowledge of payroll legislation, Fair Work Act and long service leave on a national basis
* Single Touch Payroll
* Working knowledge of HR3 is preferred but not essential
* Experience with Human Force Employee Time and Attendance system will be highly regarded
* Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
* Excellent time management skills
* HR experience is desirable but not essential
* A passion for payroll and enjoy working with numbers
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification preferred but not essential.
