About the Role:
The Electrical/Electronic Test Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and conducting tests to ensure the reliability and safety of electrical and electronic systems and components. Working in a small lab environment, this individual will leverage a deep understanding of electrical engineering principles and testing methodologies to support product development, troubleshooting, and quality assurance processes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Test Plan Development: Design detailed test plans for electrical/electronic components and systems.
* Test Execution: Conduct hands-on testing using lab equipment, including environmental, durability, and functional tests.
* Data Analysis and Insights: Analyse test data and prepare detailed reports to share with engineering and management teams.
* Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and investigate electrical/electronic failures or issues, providing actionable recommendations.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure all components meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
* Lab Management: Oversee lab operations, including equipment calibration and maintenance.
* Teamwork & Collaboration: Collaborate with product development teams to integrate test findings into product design.
* Constant Improvement: Stay updated with the latest testing technologies and propose improvements for lab capabilities.
* Rework: Perform PCA-related rework for testing and validation purposes.
* Other Responsibilities:
* Ensure safe work practices are observed and advise the OS&H coordinator of any hazards or potential hazards.
* Work in a small, specialized lab environment, which may require occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines or troubleshoot urgent issues.
* Refer to the manufacturer's Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for the safe use of handling dangerous goods.

About You:
You will possess;
* Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering/electronics engineering or a related field.
* Proven experience in electrical/electronic testing, preferably in a test lab environment.
* Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles electronic systems and battery/charger systems.
* Experience with Altium Designer Software and knowledge of Python test scripts would be a huge advantage
* Proficiency in using oscilloscopes, multimeters and specialised test rigs.
* Strong written & verbal communication skills coupled with excellent problem solving abilities.
