Systems Analyst Role Overview
This position plays a vital role in executing configuration, managing operational health, and enabling automation across core modules. The successful candidate will sit at the heart of Canva's tiered People Technology operating model.
Tier 1 (Frontline Support)
The primary focus is on handling frontline support and basic configuration.
Tier 2 (System Configuration)
The ideal candidate will deliver safe, business-led configuration of medium-complexity changes, lead testing, and partner with IT to drive system performance.
Tier 3 (Integration and Development)
The successful Systems Analyst will manage complex integrations, custom development, platform architecture, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Configure and maintain business processes, condition rules, security groups, time off rules, and org structure.
* Own user role assignments and audit access controls in partnership with IT.
* Plan, design, and execute end-to-end testing cycles for system changes.
* Develop and maintain reusable test scripts and scenarios to ensure consistency across releases.
* Partner with teams to coordinate integration testing, gather feedback, and resolve defects before deployment.
* Identify manual or repetitive workflows and build automations using low-code tools.
* Maintain clean data and deliver actionable insights through dashboards, reports, and analytics.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Enterprise SaaS experience: Configured, supported, or maintained complex platforms within medium to large enterprise environments.
* Workday know-how: Comfortable navigating Workday modules, Core HCM and Advanced Compensation essential.
* Workflow design skills: Ability to assess, redesign, and implement business processes that enhance system usability and operational efficiency.
* Problem-solving mindset: Triaging and resolving system issues and applying safe-change practices.
* Automation confidence: Built simple to moderately complex flows using low-code tools.
* Data fluency: Confident working with large datasets, validating accuracy, and ensuring changes don't break downstream reporting.
