Under limited supervision the IT Infrastructure Support Officer will contribute to the implementation and
maintenance of the telecommunication and data systems of the Memorial. The role will assist with the
coordination of IT implementation of procedures a nd policies of the organization as well as establish
daily monitoring, perform required maintenance, backups, network troubleshooting and liaise with
Memorial staff hardware and software problems, where required. The APS4 Infrastructure support
officer will also contribute to the implementation of policies regarding security, network usage, and
disaster recovery.
The key duties of the position include:
Under general direction, fulfil the accountabilities of this role in accordance with Memorial Values and
Behaviours and as varied from time to time to achieve Memorial objectives. Key responsibilities include:
* Be a technical escalation point for technology -related issues and/or requests, supporting the Service Desk team as required with problem solving.
* Assist with the administration of the Memorial’s computers, servers, and networks within the IT environment.
* Ensure infrastructure, applications and data security/privacy controls are maintained and complying with Government direction.
* Contribute to change management for all systems within the Memorial’s environment.
* Work closely with AWM staff to efficiently deal with security matters and to identify and recommend improvements that can be made to technologies and processes.
* Document relevant processes, procedures and policies to solidify the AWMs Infrastructure environment and its usage.
Eligibility
* Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
* All applicants external to AWM that are offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a National Police Check, even if they currently hold a security clearance. The check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
* The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Level security clearance.
Formal Qualifications/Technical Skills:
* High level computer literacy skills including knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Demonstrated experience in Infrastructure support.
