This is an exciting role within the Strategic Initiatives team to deliver on the University of Sydney Business School Strategy 2023-27, with specific focus on increasing student diversity, inclusion, and success, and increasing staff inclusion and gender diversity.
The **Project Officer EDI**will be responsible for leading an innovative ecosystems approach to analysing, developing, and implementing key EDI initiatives across the Business School. The **Project Officer EDI**will ensure the Business School can demonstrate positive outcomes in improving representation and support in the student body, partnering with student clubs and societies, driving inclusive staff experiences and career acceleration, and identifying key EDI improvements.
The position works across all Business School portfolios to raise awareness, identify, and implement evidence-based approaches to advance access, participation and inclusion, measure impact and communicate outcomes. The role will also collaborate with external partners, communities of practice and Business School accreditation agencies.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- provide operational project management support during project organisation and establishment
- manage the development and implementation of work stream project plans, including project financial management
- identify and implement project governance and reporting procedures to monitor project delivery
- develop and maintain effective productive relationships with project stakeholders, including industry consultation activity and management of industry outreach programs
- be a sponsor and advocate to raise awareness amongst staff and students of the importance of equity, diversity, and inclusion in the Business School and the University of Sydney.
- represent the Business School at any University-level committees as required.
- Manages and provides secretariat support and calendar management to the EDI Committee
**About you**
- experience in managing a diverse group of key internal/external stakeholders on a large or complex project within a higher education sector or at a complex, multi-faceted organization
- strong knowledge of EDI principles ideally within the University and general community, and experience working in an EDI related area of a University or organisation
- experience in controlling expenditure for reconciliation/budget tracking, managing invoice managements and purchases for a project
- effective development and management of a diverse group of key stakeholders on a large or complex project
- excellent administrative skills and a general understanding of project management
- ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- well-developed negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing skills
- demonstrated ability to develop, review and implement policies, procedures and systems, including interpreting complex regulations (from external and internal sources) affecting students and staff.
