Network Engineer
We are seeking a Network Engineer to join our team. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the support, maintenance and uplift of our network infrastructure, systems and designs in a period of technological change.
* Contribute to the investigation, diagnosis and resolution of network problems and provide advice on preventative strategies.
* Under broad direction to perform and achieve complex network engineering work.
* Work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work.
* Highlight perceived security risks to managers.
* Identify areas of risk and review the adequacy and effectiveness of the Commission's approach to risk in the use of ICT and offer appropriate suggestions to address the risk.
* Exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures.
* Produce concise technical systems documentation and knowledge artefacts supporting design and operational continuity.
* Liaise with internal and external agencies, including providers in relation to the design, delivery and support of network communications infrastructure.
* Assist in the maintenance of customer satisfaction and good relationships with providers.
* Input on system availability, capacity planning, usability and performance management
* Input on technical roadmaps and service improvement activities
* Advise on best practice implementation and security compliance of the Network Infrastructure
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, maintain and implement complex ICT networks, with a strong track record across on-premises and hybrid cloud environments.
* Develop structured procedures and conduct routine hardware/software installations and de-installations in enterprise environments.
* Manage gateway technologies, including remote access and proxies.
* Experience with Cisco switches, ISE and ASA's and Fortinet products.
* End-to-end configuration of routing, switching and secure tunnelling within large-scale networks.
* Experience in Azure networking services and hybrid cloud network development.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT or a related field, or equivalent experience and training.
* Minimum CCNA certified, CCNP and/or CCIE desirable.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Ability to contribute to projects and initiatives, with a focus on continuous improvement.
Working Conditions:
* This is a full-time position.
* Non-ongoing opportunity will be offered for an irregular/intermittent term.
