ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Clinical Educator to join our headspace team.headspaceis the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples' wellbeing (www.headspace.org.au).

Our Clinical Educator supports and promotes student placement programs, to grow the future of the headspace workforce. The role assists Centres, new graduates and students through the provision of clinical supervision and skill development in line with the structure set out by the Early Careers Program. This position also promotes a culture of continuous learning across the whole headspace and Adolescent services team, and form part of the senior clinical leadership team.

headspace operates a flexible operating hours structure to support the needs of our clients and their families, which means there will be occasions where client work may extend beyond regular business hours (earlier or later). Therefore, the Clinical Educator will need to have some capacity to be flexible around start and finish times. Although this role will be based primarily at Wodonga, all staff employed by headspace will be required to travel to, and work from, the Wangaratta site when required.

ABOUT YOU

You are a qualified and experienced mental health professional, who is passionate about developing the next generation of the mental health workforce through clinical supervision, education, and mentoring. You have experience working with young people aged 21-25 presenting with mental wellbeing and/or alcohol or other drugs concerns and managing associated risks appropriately.

You are an inclusive, enthusiastic team player able to provide steady leadership and model positive behaviours consistently.

To be successful in the role you will have

* Social Worker or Occupational Therapy qualification, with at least five years practice experience following the completion of your degree, and to be eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (SW), or registered with AHPRA (OT).
* Excellent skills in engaging and working with young people, including those from diverse backgrounds and/or with complex needs.
* Previous experience as a supervisor or mentor to mental health/allied health students and/or early career professionals, including in the provision of high quality clinical supervision.
* Excellent communication skills, including experience in developing productive and positive interpersonal relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
* Highly developed report writing skills, record keeping / data management, word processing and other computer skills.
