In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
1. Ensure compliance with CASA regulations and other aviation safety standards.
2. Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of effective safety management systems.
3. Act as a key liaison with regulatory authorities, auditors, and industry stakeholders.
4. Provide leadership and guidance to ensure all operational and maintenance activities align with company policies and regulatory requirements.
5. Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and safety performance.
6. Manage and maintain the organization's operational documentation, including manuals and procedures.
7. Ensure timely reporting and resolution of safety incidents and non-compliances.
8. Support and mentor staff to uphold a strong safety culture across the organization.
9. Stay updated on changes in aviation regulations and advise on their impact on operations.
Essential Requirements
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role within aviation or the airline industry is preferred.
* Experience with General Aviation or Dash 8 Q400 aircraft.
* Ability to work flexible hours with rotating shifts and after-hours work.
* Expert computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and systems such as Air Meastro, Takeflite, Harmony Metron.
* Good working knowledge of OH&S, IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, and aviation industry standards.
* In-depth knowledge of aviation safety regulations and the ability to uphold a strong safety culture.
* Demonstrated experience leading and motivating operations team to achieve high performing outcomes.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with internal teams and external suppliers.
* Organisational skills to manage rostering, task allocation, and multiple operational priorities.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a focus on safety and quality.
* Ability to obtain and hold an ASIC.
* Hold a current motor vehicle driver's licence.
* Valid Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate or ability to obtain one.
