Job Title:
Oracle Database Administrator
Key Responsibilities:
* Administer and maintain Oracle databases hosted on AWS (RDS and/or EC2).
* Perform regular database operations, including shutdowns, restarts, patching, log cleanup, backup/recovery, and performance tuning.
* Implement SSL/TLS encryption to ensure secure application-to-database communication.
* Configure and manage RMAN (Recovery Manager) for backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations.
* Support data migration activities in non-production and production environments, including one-time data loads and Oracle GoldenGate (OGG)-based replication.
* Perform Oracle database performance tuning and optimization across environments.
* Administer and operate Data Guard or GoldenGate for replication between primary and standby databases.
Requirements:
* Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration (12c, 19c or higher).
* Experience managing Oracle databases on AWS, including both RDS and EC2.
* Proficiency with Oracle GoldenGate for data replication.
* Operational experience with RMAN for backup, recovery, and configuration.
* Proven skills in Oracle database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
* Experience with Data Guard and GoldenGate for database replication. Expertise in configuring and managing active-passive setups with proper role definitions.
* Ability to configure Fast-Start Failover (FSFO) and monitor Data Guard status.
* Proficient with proactive monitoring using OEM or custom scripts.
* Experience in performing failover procedures and validating application connectivity post-failover.
* Experience implementing SSL/TLS for secure database connections.
* Scripting skills (e.g., Shell, Bash, Python) to automate routine tasks.
* Solid understanding of networking, storage, and security within cloud environments.
* Nice to have: Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
Documentation & Governance:
* Ability to review and contribute to LLDs, runbooks, and solution documentation.
* Experience auditing and validating third-party or vendor deliverables.
* Familiarity with OATS and DOATs processes in large enterprise environments.
