Job Title: Senior WHSE Director
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled WHSE professional to lead our safety strategy across nuclear and conventional submarine programs.
* Shape and execute a modern WHS&E strategy across ASC's enterprise, including submarine sustainment and the historic introduction of nuclear-powered submarines.
* Lead and inspire a capable WHS&E team with five direct reports and oversight of over 30 professionals across governance, assurance, safety engineering, and environment.
* Integrate global and local regulations into fit-for-purpose systems that meet ASC's evolving technical and regulatory obligations.
* Serve as a key influencer with regulators, government agencies, customer groups, industry partners, and the ASC board.

Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive WHS&E strategy that aligns with ASC's goals and objectives.
2. Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, government agencies, and industry partners.
3. Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
4. Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management and other stakeholders.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* Tertiary qualifications in WHS&E or a related discipline.
* At least 10 years' leadership experience in high-risk industries such as defence, construction, aviation, oil & gas, or mining.
* Demonstrated success engaging with regulators, boards, and executives.
* Proven ability to build, lead, and embed best-practice frameworks for safety and environmental performance.
