**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Head of Western Region Personal Injury, this role's purpose is to drive business plans and distribution strategy within the local market. Use your Underwriting, Brokerage & Sales, and marketing knowledge to Build and maintain effective relationships while optimising growth and profitability outcomes. Utilise your existing people leader skills to lead and develop a team of diverse skilled Underwriters.

**You'll be responsible for**:
- Develop action plans and ensuring quality service and adherence to Company risk, underwriting and Compliance standards.
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of brokers, ensuring that portfolios are sustainably maintained in alignment with the Risk Appetite, financial objectives, Governance, and strategic objectives of the Workers Compensation product.
- Execute proactive portfolio management and analysis to identify effective strategies and solutions aimed at improving client and portfolio profitability. Developing and implementing cycle management plans as required. This includes Identifying and developing new business opportunities within existing portfolio and existing relationships.
- Drive performance and act as a technical specialist for the local brand this includes internal stakeholders such as account management and claims.
- Manage large account workflow and underwriting escalation processes. Ensuring market leading customer service is delivered to maintain positive Net Promoter Score (NPS) results.
- Engage and work alongside the SME Underwriting Manager to ensure Allianz Personal Injury is offered to all local market.
**Important to your success**:
- Extensive experience in an operational, commercial Underwriting management / leadership role in a general insurance organisation.
- Significant Workers Compensation/ Personal Injury experience & knowledge of the associated legislation
- Demonstrates commercial acumen by using insights related to the market, opportunities, risks, and competitors within the insurance industry.
- Extensive background in proactively building and maintaining professional relationships and networks to enhance industry positioning.
- Experience empowering people and leading a successful team to ensure staff, business and customer needs are met.
- Proven analytical and critical thinking capability to interpret a range of data, identify patterns and trends
