What You'll Be Doing

The Midwife Educator provides leadership and coordination of nursing and midwifery education and training programs across SNSWLHD. The role is responsible for the development, coordination and delivery of nursing and midwifery education and orientation programs. This includes but is not limited to: nursing and midwifery students, transition to practice and specialty programs for registered nurses/midwives and enrolled nurses. The role provides support and direction in collaboration with nursing and midwifery leaders and specialty staff, ensuring the quality, integrity and consistency of education and training across the SNSWLHD.


Selection Criteria

* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a registered midwife.
* Recent experience in clinical practice with a postgraduate qualification in health education or relevant field or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and work experience.
* Demonstrated effective leadership skills including highly developed communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation abilities.
* Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate, deliver and evaluate education and training programs.
* Demonstrated understanding of contemporary adult learning principles and flexible delivery modes for learning.
* High level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to conduct professional‑level presentations for educational purposes.
* Computer literacy and understanding of relevant health information systems.
* Evidence of a current unrestricted driver's licence and the ability to maintain it; willingness to drive/travel as the role requires, including long distances and overnight stays.
