HEAVY VEHICLE MECHANICS / FITTERS - BDS TOWNSVILLE
We are offering full-time, permanent opportunities for Diesel Mechanics or Fitters to join our Townsville team. This is an excellent chance to be part of a well-established, reputable, and stable company, with strong potential for long-term career growth.
BDS Mechanical Repairs is a fast-growing, innovative company delivering mechanical, auto-electrical, and welding services both on-site and from our fully equipped workshops. With 22 branches across Queensland and a fleet of over 160 field service units, we provide reliable support across more than 600,000 km² in Queensland and Western Australia. The successful candidates will possess the following:
* Relevant trade qualification
* Diagnostic experience
* Strong fault-finding skills
* Experience with trucks and trailers
* Heavy earthmoving experience (advantageous)
* Good communication skills
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Truck licence (preferred)
* Additional skills, experience, tickets, and licences will be highly regarded
Your duties will include:
* Diesel engine diagnostics & repair, major and minor rebuilds
* General Repairs/maintenance works – Trucks & Trailers/4×4's
* Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems
* Checking vehicle lighting systems
* Test driving vehicles to gauge performance
* Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles
* Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist
