The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Data Scientist who can own projects end-to-end, deliver sharp insights, and continuously improve machine learning and analytics products. You'll work closely with stakeholders, solve complex problems, and lead new data initiatives from idea to execution.
Location: Head office in Eveleigh, Sydney. Reporting to the Head of Growth.
Contract: 12‐month contract (maternity leave cover).
What you'll do
* Turn complex data into clear, actionable insights through delivering fast, accurate analysis and bringing it to life with visualization such as Tableau or Databricks dashboards.
* Own and improve ML models, pipelines, and analytics products by keeping everything running smoothly with ongoing tuning and optimisation.
* Lead end‐to‐end analytics projects, from idea to delivery, building impactful, scalable data solutions that drive real business value.
* Collaborate across teams, partnering with stakeholders and data engineers on everything from requirements and data design to dashboards and ongoing improvements.
* Support strong data governance by helping manage access, ensuring compliance, and shaping best practices that keep analytics reliable and future‐ready.
What you'll bring
You're proactive, a problem solver driven to turn data into meaningful business outcomes with strong technical expertise. You take ownership while thriving in a fast‐paced, collaborative environment. You'll also have:
* 3+ years of experience in data analytics roles with a solid foundational understanding of machine learning.
* Strong hands‐on skills in SQL and Python for working with enterprise‐scale datasets, ideally on the Databricks platform; proficiency with Spark is highly advantageous.
* Proficient with BI tools such as Tableau and have hands‐on experience with the Databricks platform (ideally including AI/BI capabilities within Databricks as well) with a focus on translating complex data into clear, user‐friendly insights.
* Proven track record in partnering with internal stakeholders to define business requirements and design meaningful analytical insights.
* Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or related field.
