Job Title: Maths and Science Educator
Role Overview:
As a classroom teacher, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering programs to achieve specific student outcomes.
Depending on the role, teachers may take on additional duties such as mentoring, supervising student teachers, and contributing to school policy development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
* Contributing to the development, implementation, and evaluation of a curriculum area or other curriculum program within the school.
* Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal.
* Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps, and excursions.
* Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
Selection Criteria:
1. Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy skills.
2. Experience responding to student learning needs.
3. Experience planning and implementing high-impact teaching strategies guided by student learning principles and evaluating impact on learning growth.
4. Experience monitoring and assessing student learning using data to inform practice and providing feedback to students and parents.
5. Interpersonal and communication skills; experience establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader community.
6. Demonstrated behaviours aligned with Department values reflecting on practice and engaging in professional learning to improve teaching quality.
Eligibility and Requirements:
Teachers who are currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach the specified curriculum area.
Additional Information:
All staff must adhere to the Department's Child Safety Code of Conduct. Appointment is subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks. A probationary period may apply during the first year of employment.
