Salary Range: LGO4 ($79,414 - $81,318 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience

About The Role:
The Communications Officer assists in the delivery of high quality, strategic and tactical communication plans through the provision of technical, content and administrative support, delivering appropriate campaigns and tools to inform and engage the Townsville community, delivering high quality, innovative and integrated marketing, communication and engagement services, products and collateral across relevant channels that engage, inform, and influence.
Qualifications And Experience
* Formal qualifications to a degree level in Marketing, Communications, or equivalent working experience.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role delivering successful communication and/or engagement plans and activities including digital and social media.
* IAP2 Certificate of Engagement or ability to obtain
About You:
In this role, you will contribute to the successful delivery of Council's Corporate Plan and policies by providing high‐quality, innovative, and integrated marketing, communication, and engagement services across a range of channels. You will support the development of organisational communication strategies and plans, ensuring all Council communication activities remain up to date, engaging, and relevant.
To be successful, you will bring formal qualifications in Marketing, Communications or a related field, supported by a minimum of three years' experience delivering effective communication and engagement initiatives, including digital and social media. You will model a positive safety culture and demonstrate well‐developed written and interpersonal communication skills, along with strong consultation, collaboration, and problem‐solving abilities.
The role requires sound project management capability, the ability to build relationships and influence with integrity, and the capacity to work both autonomously and within a team environment. Strong prioritisation and time management skills, proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, and an IAP2 Certificate of Engagement (or willingness to obtain) are also essential.
