Southern Clinical Development Consulting (SouthernClinical) is scaling the Australian presence of a category-defining precision oncology portfolio for a global leader in liquid biopsy.
The technology has proven its clinical utility and is already established in-market. We are now at a critical inflection point: our mandate is to move the portfolio from early-adopter usage to a standardised national clinical protocol. We are not just selling a diagnostic tool; we are re‐engineering the standard of care by solving the friction between pathology, surgery, and oncology.
The Ownership & Strategy
* Architect of Scale: You will own and drive the Australian scale‐up strategy. You are not a steward of a global script; you are the lead designer of the local execution.
* Leadership Trajectory: This is a foundational hire. Success in driving this inflection point creates the immediate opportunity for a line‐reporting leadership role in Year 1‐2 as we expand the national team.
* "Special Ops" Environment: You will operate within a lean, agile team unburdened by the institutional bureaucracy and "corporate drag" of large organisations.
The Hybrid Role
60% Commercial Execution
* Drive Inflection: Move the portfolio from "discretionary" to "reflex" usage across Tier‐1 oncology centres and private pathology networks.
* Value‐Based Selling: Navigate a high‐stakes out‐of‐pocket/private‐pay environment. You must possess the logic to justify the clinical and economic offset of this investment through treatment velocity and superior clinical utility.
* Institutional Navigation: Master the "bench‐to‐bedside" journey, integrating breakthrough diagnostic technology into hospital workflows and MDT protocols.
40% Clinical Integration
* Clinical Peer: Act as a high‐level technical resource for oncologists and pathologists, translating complex genomic data into actionable clinical insights.
* Workflow Optimisation: Identify and resolve systemic bottlenecks within hospital systems to ensure seamless testing integration.
* Data Fluency: Lead high‐level clinical discussions that move the needle from "interest" to "standardised practice."
The Profile
* Scientific Literacy: You possess the "clinical currency" to sit across from Tier‐1 oncologists and be taken seriously as a peer.
* Commercial Grit: You have a verifiable record of winning in the Australian oncology or pathology market, specifically with high‐value, non‐reimbursed assets.
* Second-Order Thinking: You anticipate institutional bottlenecks before they occur and solve for the system, not just the sale.
* Network Alpha: You have established "cell‐phone‐level" relationships within Australia's major oncology hubs.
Qualifications
* Education: BSc in Life Sciences or a related clinical field is required. An advanced degree (MSc, PhD, or MBA) is highly regarded.
* Experience: 5+ years in oncology sales, precision medicine, or molecular diagnostics.
* Proven Success: A track record of scaling high‐value oncology assets or complex diagnostics is essential.
