The primary role involves assisting customers directly, completing sales transactions, and ensuring accurate product movement within the store or warehouse. The ideal candidate will support the team in meeting service delivery expectations for customers while maintaining a positive attitude and commitment to self-improvement.
Key Responsibilities
* Sales and Customer Service: Operate point-of-sale systems to accurately record transactions, provide helpful service to satisfy customer enquiries, make sales, and take orders for delivery both in-store and by telephone.
* Suggestive Selling: Suggest add-on sales and contribute ideas to increase store or department sales.
* Quote Management: Process and follow up quotes on a daily basis to qualify, refine, and close sales opportunities, entering details into the quote register and Frameworks.
* Negotiation: Negotiate individual items, product prices, etc., on each quote to close sales opportunities.
* Paperwork and Administration: Complete and check all paperwork correctly, ensuring procedures are followed as instructed.
* Stock Management: Assist with preparation, packing, and dispatch of orders, assist with receipt, and ensure safe storage of stock as required, may operate a forklift.
* Liaison and Communication: Manage stock levels and liaise with suppliers as directed by the local manager.
* Workplace Maintenance: Maintain the tidiness of the work area as required or directed.
* Knowledge and Training: Acquire and maintain up-to-date knowledge of old and new product and stock levels, attend organised industry-related trade nights for product training, and undertake self-directed learning through Trade Net for relevant products.
* Security and Safety: Maintain security over merchandise and monies from theft and damage, report all damage to breakage of, and loss of stock to the local manager or supervisor, adhere to safe work practices, and cooperate with other departments in the preparation of orders including delivery of product.
* Performance and Development: Adhere to company policies and procedures to the best of your ability, undertake self-assessment on personal safety to adhere to assigned lifting requirements, and perform other related duties as required.

* Sales Budget: Assist in achievement of monthly store or department sales budget KPI target achieved or exceeded.
* Turnaround Time: Turnaround time for follow-up of first-time quotes KPI 2-7 hours.
* Quote Register: Maintain the quote register and Frameworks with sales opportunities daily.
* Absenteeism and Attendance: Attend work on time daily.
* Customer Service: Polite service to customers and colleagues daily.
