**About the Role**
We're looking for an efficient and experienced **Logistics Allocator** to join a growing team in Goulburn, NSW.
This is a permanent, full-time position, overseeing a small team of despatch staff.
You'll be responsible for planning, allocating, and managing the daily dispatch of freight to ensure timely and accurate deliveries to clients across the country.
You'll play a key part in coordinating drivers, loads, and transport resources in line with project schedules and customer expectations.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Allocate and schedule deliveries to meet project deadlines, client expectations, and load capacities.
- Assign jobs to drivers and external transport providers based on load size, route, and availability.
- Use logistics software or manual systems to plan and optimise delivery runs.
- Monitor freight movements and respond proactively to delays, route changes or urgent delivery requirements.
- Liaise with the factory, working closely with the production and warehouse teams to align load readiness with dispatch plans.
- Contact customers to ensure criteria and expectations are satisfactorily met.
- Maintain communication with drivers to manage live updates and troubleshoot issues in real-time.
- Ensure all transport documentation is correctly completed and available prior to dispatch.
- Track and report on logistics KPIs such as delivery timeliness, utilisation, and cost efficiency.
**About You**
You will bring strong experience in transport allocation, dispatch, or logistics operations, ideally within a manufacturing, construction, or freight environment.
This role demands someone with strong communication skills and a methodical mindset, who can think on their feet, solve problems quickly, and allocate resources efficiently under pressure.
Key requirements include:
- Proven background in a logistics allocation or transport scheduling role
- Trucking experience
- Strong knowledge of transport and freight operations
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively
- High-level attention to detail and time management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Experience using logistics or route-planning software (preferred)
- Effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills
