Leading and managing high-quality electrical design solutions for complex utilities projects, combining technical excellence, client engagement and commercial awareness to deliver fit-for-purpose, profitable outcomes. Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to play a critical role in leading and managing the electrical design process across complex projects. This is a senior, hands-on position where you will provide technical leadership, ensure design excellence, and contribute to the ongoing success and growth of the organisation.
Working closely with clients, internal teams and external stakeholders, you will oversee electrical design from concept through to completion, ensuring designs meet technical standards, client requirements and commercial objectives. This role offers the opportunity to influence project outcomes, mentor designers and support business development initiatives.

Years of Experience:
8+ years
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Leading the electrical design process from concept through to detailed design and delivery
* Ensuring all electrical designs comply with relevant standards, codes and client requirements
* Implementing and maintaining rigorous quality assurance and peer review processes
* Managing project timelines, budgets and resources to ensure efficient and profitable delivery
* Collaborating closely with clients to develop tailored, value-driven design solutions
* Optimising design processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs without compromising quality
* Providing tender support including preparation and review of tender documentation
* Acting as a key point of contact for electrical design matters across projects
* Coordinating and mentoring electrical designers and contributing to team development
* Building and maintaining strong relationships with utility providers, authorities and external stakeholders
* Supporting business development activities, including tenders, presentations and client meetings
* Staying up to date with industry trends, technologies and best practice
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Undergraduate qualification in Electrical Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia
* Minimum 8+ years’ experience in electrical design engineering on complex projects
* Proven experience managing and delivering electrical designs from concept to construction
* Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes and regulatory requirements
* Demonstrated experience in design management and quality assurance
* Proficiency in relevant electrical design software and tools
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage clients and lead technical discussions
* Commercial awareness and understanding of project delivery and profitability
