About the role

The Safety and Quality Officer works as part of the multidisciplinary team in the Patient Safety and Quality Unit (PSQ) to support West Moreton Health to meet safety and quality requirements and priorities as set out in the Safety and Quality Framework, Safety and Quality Improvement Strategy and the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.

The Safety and Quality Officer provides expertise, facilitation and support to the Director PSQ, the wider PSQ team and staff across West Moreton to deliver improved care, including promoting best practice in consumer engagement, quality improvement, risk management, clinical audit and patient safety.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:

* Comprehensive knowledge of the Australian Health Service Safety and Quality Accreditation Scheme, National Safety and Quality and Health Service Standards and relevant legislation to support accreditation within a complex healthcare setting
* High-level analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills particularly in relation to the development, monitoring and evaluation of service improvements, including strategic planning initiatives
* High-level written and oral communication skills, including project planning, report writing, education planning and presentation skills.
* Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team to gain trust, support others, constructively negotiate ambiguity and conflict, and value and respect difference.

Mandatory Requirements:

* Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
