Job Overview

Leading Hand – Full‐time position based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The role supports the local workshop's Diesel Fitters as a permanent team lead, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

* Deliver quality service – carry out maintenance and repairs to the highest standard, ensuring our customers' equipment performs at its best.
* Follow the right procedures – research and consult the correct and latest information systems for specific procedures, instructions and specifications.
* Do it once, do it right – take every step to ensure workmanship is fault‐free, keeping quality in the finished product and avoiding any rework.
* Lead, support and mentor – train and develop other technicians by following procedures and sharing knowledge.
* Think outside the box – identify ways to improve processes and working methods to keep Hastings Deering at the forefront of the industry.
* Safety above all – make sure the workshop maintains its safety standards and gets everyone home safe.

Qualifications

* Experience that counts – previous experience as a Diesel Fitter, exposure to a workshop environment or a similar leading hand role.
* Strong communicator – excellent communication skills with a genuine customer focus.
* Organised and efficient – strong time‐management skills to keep jobs on track.
* Team player – able to work well with others as well as independently when required.
* Safety minded – committed to maintaining high workplace health and safety standards at all times.
